How does Boomerang Work?
The Boomerang Notification Framework consists of a number of tables in a SQL database. Each one of these tables represents a notification service for example sending e-mails (EMAIL_OUT) and printing documents (PRINT_OUT). When inserting into any of these tables magic happens and sim sala bim an e-mail is sent and a document is printed.
To monitor activity and connect existing infrastructure in your environment the Boomerang Administration Console make it an easy and quick task.

Server Platform
Boomerang services runs on the windows platform and have been thoroughly tested on Windows Server 2003, 2008 or 2008 R2. Currently the following databases servers are supported: 2005, 2008, 2008 R2 and 2008 Express Edition.
Since Boomerang Notification Framework is fully integrated with SQL Server Reporting Services we recommend using Boomerang in conjunction with SSRS.
